Nat, of Nat’s Nourishments, is known for her wholesome recipes that burst with health-benefits and vegetables. As we approach the late-summer stretch, she’s written us three colourful vegetarian recipes to carry us through to next season.

FIL, SHATTA JAM: SPICY-TANGY CHILLI JAM: Shatta is a traditional, naturally-fermented chilli condiment from Palestine. Shatta Jam, however, is not traditional at all. This unique take on a chilli jam is sweet, tart, aromatic, and very addictive. It makes a memorable addition to a cheeseboard, in a toastie, mixed into a salad dressing, or served along fried food.

HAYNES GOURMET, GREEN CANDIED JALAPEÑOS: Haynes' green candied jalapeños burst with hot, tangy, sweet flavour. Candied jalapeños are a popular condiment across the southern states of the US, with their unique, balanced flavour profile. Blend these through salad dressings, sprinkle over pizza, nachos, eggs, or salads. Or, pair them with cheese.

GYMKHANA FINE FOODS, GOAN CURRY SAUCE: The sun-kissed, fragrant flavours of coriander, cumin and coconut, all perfectly balanced in a ready-to-heat sauce. This Goan recipe brings the flavours of South India to your home kitchen. Simply par-cook your vegetables or fish of choice, then finish them in the sauce.

BOLD BEAN CO, ORGANIC CHICKPEAS: Bold Bean Co. makes premium, jarred, heirloom beans slowly cooked to bring out their natural flavour. This jar contains organic Pedrosillano chickpeas, water, and a pinch of salt. They have a smooth, creamy, and nutty flavour. Delicious used to make hummus or toasted as croutons for soup.

CORNWALL PASTA CO, ORGANIC MAFALDA PASTA: Mafalda pasta, also known as mafaldine or reginette, is a flat, wide, ribbon-shaped pasta with ruffled edges. Its textured surfaces are perfect for clinging onto thick meaty sauces, or it works equally well with more delicate sauces too.

THE SAUCERER, WILD MUSHROOM & TRUFFLE OIL PASTA SAUCE: This little jar is packed with five varieties of wild mushrooms: chanterelle, porcini, trumpet, shiitake, and chestnut. Each brings a unique flavour, and combined, they bring intensity and depth to the sauce. To serve, simply stir into pasta. Add sauteed mushrooms to really elevate the dish.
