This jar contains our unique laksa paste for our signature vegan curry laksa - the king of noodle soups! Our signature laksa is based on a 'campur' style laksa found in Malacca - a cross between Kuala Lumpur's curry laksa and Penang's fiery assam laksa. It is rooted in Peranakan Nyonya cooking (a blend of Malay and Chinese cuisine). Our vegan laksa broth is a complex, heady mix of 15 different ingredients and spices, with a powerful umami base from miso and tomato. All you need to do is add coconut milk and stock (and/or water), noodles and toppings of your choice to end up with an award-winning, restaurant-quality meal!
One jar contains enough paste for between 2 to 6 bowls of laksa. For 2 bowls of undiluted HOT spice level laksa broth, you'll just need to add 270g coconut milk and 500ml water/stock. For 6 bowls of MILD laksa broth, add 400g coconut milk and 1.2 litres water/stock.
For best results, use heavily salted water to blanch your noodles and toppings.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Chef Mandy Yin is one of the few Malaysian chef/owners in the UK, having founded Sambal Shiok in London in 2013. She is a Malaysian-born Chinese of Peranakan Nyonya heritage. "I take inspiration from everything I ate in my childhood growing up in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Then I mix it up and put a new slant on it."
