Handmade in Tuscany by a small family run bakery for The Sicilian Deli, this is our Panforte Margherita Morbido.
Panforte is a type of fruitcake native to Siena, Italy, usually enjoyed during the winter months. It is a delicious cross between confectionary and cake, and this one is baked until it's still soft and barely set. It's decadent with almonds and candied peel, enrobed in a rich and comforting honey-butter-sugar syrup before baking.
Cut into small pieces and enjoy with a glass of dessert wine such as Vin Santo or a glass of Prosecco for the perfect nutty, chewy, sweet treat.
