Spicy Peanut Furikake

Tacacucina started making products in 2020 at the start of lockdown when the cafe she worked in closed down. This furikake is a spicy Japanese-inspired rice seasoning that's crunchy, salty, nutty, and delightfully earthy with a hint of brininess. The unique blend features roasted peanuts, nigella seeds, sesame seeds, brown sugar, sea salt, togarashi spice, and ground Irish laver seaweed. Rather than importing nori from Japan, she discovered that local Irish laver offers the same taste and nutritional benefits, sourced from Donegal's coastline. This vegetarian-friendly furikake transforms ordinary dishes—perfect sprinkled over rice, vegetables, eggs, chips, or cream cheese toast.
