Makan Malaysia, founded by best friends Kat and Sue, shares the authentic flavours of their homeland across the UK, bringing the taste of Malaysian cuisine to home kitchens. Ikan Bilis and Kacang is a popular Malaysian snack made of crispy fried anchovies (ikan bilis) and roasted peanuts. It's a savoury and crunchy combination, often enjoyed on its own or as a topping for dishes like Nasi Lemak. The mix of salty anchovies and earthy peanuts creates a delicious balance of textures and flavours, which also makes a perfect bar snack on its own.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Sauce brand Makan Malaysia is the brainchild of childhood best friends Kat and Sue, who grew up together in Malaysia before moving to the UK in 2009. Struggling to find traditional Malaysian cuisine, the pair decided to make their own and now make all their products from their Reading kitchen.
