Puffin Eggs: Salted Caramel & Chocolate Ganache Eggs

Delicious milk chocolate eggs filled with salted caramel & ganache. The buttery salted caramel ganache is indulgent, and the use of a touch of ‘fleur de sel’ salt in the caramel intensifies the flavour, making this the perfect, sophisticated sweet treet.

The Chocolate Detective writes, "Brightly billed purring puffins are my favourite seabird with their cute, clown-like appearance. They pair up for life and raise just one precious Puffling a year. One of my secret haunts, Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel, takes its name from the Old Norse word for Puffin, and is an important breeding ground for these beautiful rare creatures." Artwork is by Madeleine Floyd who has two lovely books of bird illustrations, ‘Birdsong’ and ‘Chickens, Ducks and Geese'.

These eggs are the same as the salted caramel in the cuckoo which were selected as a Best Buy and given 5 stars in Jeremy Lee’s (Quo Vadis) taste test for the Observer last Easter.
