The female cuckoo has an anti-social reputation, known to oust innocent songbird eggs from their nests, replacing them with her own. Once hatched the large cuckoo chick flexes its squatter’s rights and removes the original inmates from the nest to profit from the menu provided by his gullible foster parents.
